Are you looking for a beautiful, gentle homeschool curriculum for all ages? Check out Harbor and Sprout!

.

What is it?

Harbor and Sprout has dozens of unit studies, many of them science and nature-focused. The resources are differentiated by age, which is great for those homeschooling multiple ages.

In addition to the unit studies, there are also Morning Basket resources to accompany each unit! Different printable activities complement the main units of study. The Morning Basket materials are aimed at children 2-6!

How does it work?

In addition to lesson plans, each unit includes planning pages, a book list differentiated by ages, family read alouds, and character education lessons. The lesson plans cover a wide variety of topics but also include Science, Nature Study, Language Arts, Writing, History, Geography, Music, Art, and Math. In addition, there are a plethora of supplemental wellness, nature, and reading and writing activities!

My favorite unit? BEEKEEPING!

In addition to being ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, Harbor and Sprout’s Beekeeping unit is very well done! I loved hearing about the history of bees and the science behind hives and honey! Best of all, part of the language arts curriculum includes Winnie the Pooh!

There are so many bee resources, we would never use them all in one unit study! This unit can be revisited again and again for more bee fun!

Is it secular?

This is my one qualm about Harbor and Sprout. While it’s not a religious curriculum, it’s also not secular and they describe themselves as neutral.

For my family, this isn’t an issue. I would describe myself as a secular homeschooler but I also have no problem supplementing and cutting out anything religious if I need to. I think it’s a robust program with a heavy emphasis on nature study and I love that.

I haven’t seen anything in this curriculum that made me pause but if you’re looking for a fully secular curriculum, this probably isn’t the curriculum for you!
