Completely new to Notion? Learn everything you need to know with my Notion for Beginners guide here!
It can be overwhelming to get started with Notion because you can use it to do almost everything. How do you decide where to start? How many pages do you need? How does it all work? It’s my hope that I can answer some of these questions with my Free Customizable Notion Dashboard! While I 100% recommend you experiment with your own dashboard to truly learn how Notion works, it can be invaluable to have a template to mess around with as you find your footing! Let’s explore what’s in this free customizable Notion dashboard, shall we?
The Dashboard
The Dashboard itself is simple. At the top of the page, you can add a cover photo either by uploading your own image, linking to an image address, or searching the stock photos! I love to use the stock photos in a pinch but use my own photos or link to images in certain circumstances (my House Hunting Tracker for Notion is a great example of when to link to image addresses!). You can also add a custom icon or choose from the icons available to add some personality to your dashboard!
The To-Do list on the dashboard uses the Toggle feature. This allows you to open and close the toggle when you need to see what’s inside while keeping your Notion dashboard simple and neat when you don’t need the to-do lists! Underneath the To-Do lists are three pages, which we will get into shortly!
Projects and Goals Gallery
The Projects and Goals Gallery is the feature I use the most in my personal and business dashboards. I love the visual of having images on the cards, not only does it jog my memory but it' makes the dashboard more aesthetic as well. I’ve added a template to the cards to help you plan your next steps with your goals. It’s easy to customize the template to include whatever you want or need when planning!
I have the Projects and Goals Gallery filtered by Not Started and In Progress with a different view for Completed Projects. When I’m having a rough day or a day where I think it’ll never get done, I like to check out my completed projects and see everything I’ve accomplished so far!
Calendar
The first page under your to-do lists is the Calendar page. This Calendar is integrated with your Current Projects board, so you can schedule things from either view and see them, and all the information stored in your cards, all in one place!
Additionally, the To-Do lists are synced, which means any updates you make on your Dashboard are automatically updated in the Calendar view and vice versa. This makes planning and scheduling tasks MUCH easier!
Reading List
This page is set up as a Reading List but you could use it for a number of things! Duplicate and edit it and use it to track movies watched, clothing needed, parks to visit…the ideas are endless!
Recipes
The last included page is the Recipes Gallery! This page is great because not only can you include recipe information here, but it’s easy to sort by tags to find the perfect meal for your family! Add recipes as you go and edit the properties to include as much or as little information as you need!
There is a template included for each card that has you list ingredients and instructions, as well as what to serve with your meal and a link to the recipe. You can easily edit this template to add more or less information!
Have you signed up for your free Notion Dashboard yet? I hope it inspires you to customize to your heart’s desire and eases you into getting started with Notion! Happy Planning!
